Yes. Without a certified evaluator, your roof cannot qualify for FORTIFIED designation or SAH grant approval.
After you receive your SAH grant approval, contact us immediately to schedule your evaluation. Having a certified evaluator lined up before the grant window opens means you can move fast once you’re approved — delays in scheduling can slow down your certification and grant release.
After grant approval, the on-site evaluation typically takes 1–2 hours. Documentation and submission to IBHS for certification generally follows within a few business days, once your contractor completes any required work. Plan for 2–6 weeks from evaluation to final certification depending on your contractor’s schedule. Having your evaluator and contractor lined up before the window opens is the smart play.
